Paris Hilton Busted for Driving on a Suspended License and Her Car Was Impounded 2007-02-28
Paris Hilton was stopped driving on a suspended license and is to appear in court again, while her blue Bentley is impounded, police said on Wednesday. Paris went to the Virgin Megastore in West Hollywood to pick up some DVDs last night at around 10:30, when she was stopped by the cops, and her $200K 2007 Bentley Continental GTC Convertible was towed away. The 26-year-old heir-head was pulled over on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday for driving without headlights, said Deputy Sheriff Oscar Butao from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Paris’ publicist, Elliot Mintz, says the heiress was exiting the parking structure which "is brightly lit so she had not noticed that her headlights were not activated."
The incident comes about five weeks after Hilton was charged with a DUI after her breathalyzer showed she was legally drunk, but was sentenced to three years probation after pleading no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving stemming from a September arrest in Hollywood. "Miss Paris Hilton was driving the vehicle. After investigating her license status it was determined that she was driving on a suspended license," said Butao. "Miss Hilton was cited for a suspended license violation and released in the field. Her 2007 blue Bentley Continental GTC was impounded."
He said Hilton was alone at the time and was not tested for alcohol consumption. She will appear in court for driving on a suspended license but a spokeswoman from the West Hollywood police station said a date had yet to be fixed.
A spokesman for Hilton was not immediately available to comment on the incident. It is the second time in a month that Hilton has found herself in trouble over documentation. Earlier this month she was stopped by German border guards as she was heading to Vienna to attend the city’s Opera Ball on an expired passport, but was allowed to go after the U.S. embassy vouched for her when contacted by German authorities.
Paris really thinks she do anything she wants, anywhere in the world without consequences. Arrest Paris, throw her in jail for a while, and when she gets out maybe she’ll start acting responsibly. Authorities are enabling Paris into behaving badly by never making her faces reality. Paris gives dumb blonds a bad name.
Hilton pled no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving after cops arrested her on September 7 for a DUI in Hollywood. As a result, the DMV suspended her license, and a judge placed Hilton on 36 months probation, with one major condition being: to "obey all laws."
Paris Hilton violated the terms of her probation last night when she was arrested for driving on a suspended license, and could spend up to 90 days in jail as a result.
