Tiger trouble for Rodriguez 2006-07-05

LOST star Michelle Rodriguez has been criticised by animal rights activists for having a scared white tiger cub at a New York party she hosted.


The actress took SKANDA, a nine-week-old cub, to the fundraising event to raising money for a nature sanctuary.


But People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA) are annoyed the singer took the endangered animal to a nightclub.


PETA spokesman DAN MATHEWS says, "These are wild animals, not party animals.


"We know Michelle Rodriguez is an animal lover, but I think she is unaware how infant animals need to be around their mother and not a clanging party scene.


"They're not meant to be an ornament at a party, even one that is designed to raise money for animals. It kind of defeats the purpose."
