George joins Treatment for HBO

George joins Treatment for HBO 2006-10-31
Melissa George, the star of The Amityville Horror and the upcoming Turistas, has joined Blair Underwood, Gabriel Byrne, and Dianne Wiest in a new show for HBO called In Treatment, The Hollywood Reporter announced this week.
In Treatment is an adaptation of an Israeli series of the same name about a shrink (Byrne) who's great with his patients, one of whom George will play, but has his own problems at home. It kind of sounds like a dramatic version of Ted Danson's struggling ABC comedy Help Me Help You. Wiest will play Byrne's therapist and mentor.
In Treatment will be a half-hour drama and HBO has ordered five episodes to be produced, but with no commitment to air them. Zap 2 It is reporting that the channel considers those five to be an extended pilot.
Mark Wahlberg, who struck gold on the network with Entourage, will produce In Treatment for HBO.
Melissa George is best known for playing Lauren Reed on Alias before appearing in Amityville and Derailed. She recently jumped into the horror genre with Turistas appearing December 1st and is filming the vampire movie 30 Days of Night.
