KEIRA KNIGHTLEY BROUGHT BACK DOWN TO EARTH

British film star KEIRA KNIGHTLEY was brought back down to earth after hearing of her Golden Globe nomination on Tuesday (13DEC05) - when her mother told her she wouldn't win.

The 20-year-old beauty is up against DAME JUDI DENCH, LAURA LINNEY, SARAH JESSICA PARKER and REESE WITHERSPOON in the Best Actress - Musical Or Comedy category at the January (06) ceremony.

Knightley enthuses, "This is completely unexpected and I'm a bit shell-shocked really. I think a bottle of champagne is going to be had tonight.

"I phoned my mum and said I'd been nominated and she said: 'Oh, that's lovely. You won't win, but that's lovely.'

"I'm looking forward to the ceremony but I have no idea what I'm going to wear.


"It's terrifying to be amongst such amazing actresses as Dame Judi Dench. And it's really exciting to have two Brits in the nominations. We're doing all right. We're waving the flag."
