Jennifer Garner Not Expecting An Easy Marriage 2007-01-01

Jennifer Garner isn't pinning her hopes on the perfect marriage with Ben Affleck.

The 'Alias' star, who is pregnant with Affleck's child, says marriage is "hard work" and doesn't expect their relationship to resemble a fairy tale.

The beautiful actress said: "I don't have this fantasy about marriage anymore.

"Everyone says it takes hard work. Well, it does - and I'm much more pragmatic about romance than I used to be."

Garner, who wed 'Daredevil' co-star Affleck in June, was previously married to actor Scott Foley, until it ended in divorce last year.

The brunette star said she was unrealistic about her first marriage, claiming "I wanted to see him as a white knight and was crushed whenever anything normal happened. I wanted to be the princess.


"Now I'm much more willing to see myself as human and flawed, and accept someone - the whole picture." Despite giving up on romance, Garner insists she is happy with her life, adding to InStyle magazine: "I couldn't be happier or feel more comfortable with the direction it's going in."
