Daniel Radcliffe Nude in Equus Sells a Lot of Tickets 2007-02-28
In the post Equus party picture above are: Richard Griffiths, Daniel Radcliffe, Jenny Agutter, and Joanna Christie.
Daniel Radcliffe shook off the mantle of Harry Potter on Wednesday to win rave reviews for his stage portrayal of a tortured teenager in the grueling psychological thriller "Equus." Radcliffe won praise for his performance but critics argued that Peter Shaffer’s play, first performed in 1973, had not stood the test of time.
With much media hype over Radcliffe’s iconic nude scene in the play, advance sales had already topped two million pounds, making the play virtually critic-proof. London’s staid Gielgud Theater was besieged every night at previews by adoring teenage fans of Radcliffe. The other night police had to disperse the crowd of adoring female fans for fear someone could get hurt.
Equus itself is not so popular, so it must be Radcliffe’s nudity that fans are flocking to see. You can see Harry’s putter frontal nude shot here, and the backside nude shot here.
