As far as celebrity relationships go, Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake were one of the best. Not only are both Diaz and Timberlake extremely successful and popular in the entertainment world, but their relationship had been going strong since April 2003 despite rumors to the contrary. Just days into 2007, though, another rumor has surfaced about the couple's relationship, claiming Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake broke up shortly before the holidays.


The tabloid magazine Star has reported that "SexyBack" singer Justin Timberlake and high-profile actress Cameron Diaz have called their relationship quits. The tabloid reports that Justin Timberlake went to Tennessee for the Christmas season, where he spent time with his close-knit family, including one-time manager and mother Lynn, stepfather Paul Harness and his three younger half brothers. At the same time, Star magazine reports that his girlfriend Cameron Diaz headed off to Vail, Colorado, where she passed the time by hitting the slopes.


While spending the holidays apart does not mean the couple has broken up, Star magazine has talked to a source close to Justin Timberlake who says the couple have went their separate ways. The source claimed, "They had been planning to be together in Tennessee with his folks, but he came out alone and she stayed in L.A." The source goes on to reveal that on December 23, Justin Timberlake headed off to the Senses nightclub in Memphis where he told the holiday revelers that "Me and Cameron? We're done." Justin went on to tell his friends that "the breakup is for keeps!"


Though the story still only stands as a rumor, another rumor has surfaced that Timberlake has been keeping company with his ex-girlfriend Veronica Finn. The Bosh quoted excerpts from the Star magazine article where an eyewitness says, "I saw him give her a warm kiss on the cheek and squeeze her hand repeatedly." The source also claimed that, "He left with his arm around her shoulders."


Another source had a detailed account of the break-up announcement at the Senses nightclub in Memphis. "Around 2 a.m. he was with a dozen friends in the VIP room when he was asked where Cameron was. Justin said, 'We're done. It's over!' He didn't seem at all unhappy." The last time Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake were spotted in public together was during the taping of Saturday Night Live, in which Justin Timberlake was both the host and musical guest. Cameron Diaz came onstage to introduce Timberlake as the musical guest. Despite the rumors about their personal life, neither Justin Timberlake's nor Cameron Diaz's spokesperson had any comment for the press.


Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz were first known to be an item back in April 2003. Throughout their relationship, rumors had surfaced that perhaps the nine year age difference between Diaz, 34, and Timberlake, 25, were too much, but that they had overcome such problems. One lingering issue in the news was the struggle Justin and Cameron faced over their differing opinions on long-term commitment. As for Timberlake's ex-girlfriend that he was spotted with over the holidays, Veronica Finn was one of the members of the disbanded girl-pop group Innosense, which also included another former Justin Timberlake girlfriend, Britney Spears. The former 'N Sync member and Veronica Finn dated before either gained serious media attention, though the couple broke up and Timberlake entered into a high-profile relationship with Britney Spears.
