Britney Spears Trades Drug Addiction for Shopping Addiction

Britney Spears Trades Drug Addiction for Shopping Addiction 2007-03-02
Like Lindsay Lohan before her, Britney Spears has been shopping from rehab. Sources say that Spears spent a lot of last weekend in Promises Treatment Center shopping online at shopintuition.com, the Web site for the posh L.A. boutique Intuition. "She was emailing things that she saw on the site and wanted to buy," a source at the store said.
Spears has an easy hookup at the store. Her cousin Alli works for famed wedding planner Mindy Weiss, who happens to be the sister of Intuition owner Jaye Hersh. "Britney is doing great," Hersh says. "She’s really happy. She loves the store. She wants to look better and knew that we would take care of her." Spears has been dispatching Alli to pick up clothing from the store over the last week, but Spears wanted in on more of the hands-on shopping fun.
In the company of a driver and two bodyguards, Spears left the Malibu facility at around 7:30 p.m. last night. Sources say she then headed to an apartment on Inglewood Blvd. in Culver City, California, where she met up with her cousin Alli, with whom she’s been in close contact since entering rehab. The pair spent 20 minutes inside the residence and returned to the car with a bag from the posh L.A. clothing boutique Intuition that appeared to be full of clothes.
According to witnesses, Spears was in good spirits upon leaving the apartment, even holding up and waving the Intuition bag to show her excitement.
Spears stayed on schedule, and made sure she got back Promises by 9 p.m. All Spears really needs is a 24 hour baby sitter. Maybe she should bring back Kevin Federline.
