Beyonce Knowles launches designer clothes label 2007-01-01
Beyoncé Knowles is launching her own range of designer clothes.
The Destiny's Child star has signed a licensing deal with American
manufacturers Tarrant Apparel Group to distribute a clothing line designed
by herself and her mother Tina Knowles.
The collection will be called House of Dereon - named after the sexy singer's
seamstress grandmother Agnes Dereon - and will be aimed at women aged
between 18 to 28.
Beyoncé - who is already the advertising face of L'Oreal and Tommy Hilfiger
perfume - admits she is thrilled to be launching her own brand of garments
and can't wait to start coming up with ideas.
She is quoted by Associated Press as saying: "Thank God I've had the chance
to do this. I have pretty broad taste. I think my mother and I both have a
good idea of what people who are fashionable like.
I love clothes from my
grandmother's generation, my mother's generation and contemporary stuff."
The new line is due to come out in the autumn, and if it proves to be
successful the 'Crazy In Love' singer also plans to release Beyoncé branded
shoes, perfumes, jewellery and other accessories.
